The Fraser Valley extends east from Greater Vancouver and includes the communities of Langley City, the District of
Langley (including Aldergrove), Mission, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Harrison Hot Springs, Agassiz, Hope and Boston Bar. The area's agricultural roots still hold significant influence over
the culture of the area. Although many residents of this area make daily commutes into Vancouver for work, residents of the Fraser Valley communities share a community culture somewhat more
pastoral than that of metropolitan Vancouver. Located at the eastern end of the Fraser Valley, the community of Hope is situated at the crossroads of all three highway links to the interior
of BC.
Climate and Temperature in the Fraser Valley
While somewhat similar to the climate of Vancouver, the Fraser Valley communities generally experience four seasons and more extreme weather in both summer and winter due to their inland location.
Average temperature and other weather information for several communities in the region over a 30 year period can be found on the web along with current weather information and a five-day forecast.

Language
BC is a culturally diverse province and this diversity is reflected through the use of other languages in our communities. English is the most commonly used language in the Fraser Valley Service
Area. Though not as linguistically diverse as BC in general, the region still has a strong multi-linguistic flavour. This is especially reflected in the percentage of people who speak Punjabi
in the home.
